Happy Valentines Day

Wow February is half over already? We celebrated Joseph's 13 th birthday on the 4th.  Happy birthday to Alan's mom , Saundra, and my friend Johnna all the same week.  Happy  birthday to my dear friend Peggy Knight this week.

We had a great weekend. Alan and I drove to Ephraim to see Allanah!  We toured the campus, met a couple of her roommates and then we headed to American Fork to do some shopping. We stayed with our friends, the Alldredge's Friday night. We had a fun visit reminiscing our college days and how we met.   Allanah and I enjoyed a nice mother / daughter heart to heart talk until after midnight.  It was good.  I sure love that girl! I'm really proud of her too.

I started my afternoon job at Manila Elementary as the long term sub for Speech and OT.  I really enjoy it. I still get to sub for other teachers too so I keep as busy as  I want  to be.

I joined a book club this last week.  We are reading a book called "Out of My Mind" by Sharon M. Draper. It's about an 11 year old girl with a photographic memory. She is the smartest kid in her whole school but no one knows it. Most people, her teachers and doctors included think she is incapable of learning.  I loved this book!  It's a fast moving easy read.  Very inspiring.

Alan just got released from his two callings.  He's now the ward mission leader.  It's a little out of his comfort zone but he's ready to give it his 100% effort.  I know and he knows this is what Heavenly Father wants him to do right now. The rescue effort is a big deal and its humbling to know Heavenly Father is putting his trust in him to over see this in our ward. The blessing the bishop gave him today as he was set apart for this calling was beautiful . One thing that stuck out was he mentioned how Heavenly Father was pleased with Alan's willingness to head His promptings that lead us to Manila so he could serve in this ward. I'm so grateful for a husband who is, always willing and ready to serve in his priesthood responsibilities .  What a blessing he is to our family and those he serves. I just really love my guy!  What a great husband, dad, and friend.

Happy Valentines Day to my family and friends.  You all have truly touched my life in big and small ways.

Love Sue :)

Pictures!

So I figured out how to do pictures. Yea! So here are a few that many have already seen. Maybe some are new.

Here is a picture of our district housing.  I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The only downfall was it only had three bedrooms. The kids bedrooms were really small. All three boys are crammed in one. So the living room is the play area.

The next pictures are of the scenery around our home. The boy art projects, our snow storms, Christmas and New Year's Eve kisses.  Enjoy:)

6 months after the move to Manila, UT

This is the second time I have tried to write this so here goes again....

We are enjoying our new home in Manila. We live in a beautiful valley. The Uintah mountains border the south side and the Flaming Gorge Reservoir is on tne east end of the valley and town of Manila borders Wyoming on the west side.  I need to figure out how to post pictures on this blog. We have beautiful views of the Uintahs and the gorge from our house.

We are all adjusting at our own pace to our new home ,some better than others.   Alan is enjoying teaching again and he enjoys having Robert in his class.  Robert has been a great student and is doing well.  Christopher is also doing well. He enjoys his friends and cubs scout activities.

We got to learn how to ice fish last month.  We went to a free ice fishing clinic at Moose Pond which is about 25 min towards Veral.  The boys loved it! They each caught two fish.  I cleaned them and fried them up for dinner that same night.  Yummmm.

We have gotten a lot of snow from October through December .  I love it!  We just have cold weather right now. I'm anxiously waiting for the next storm.

Allanah left for college January 6th.  She was so ready to go. She is adjusting to college life at Snow College in Ephraim, UT.  She seems happy and  making friends.  I miss her !  But I am glad she has moved on.  We are really proud of her.

Erin is loving seminary and has read the Book of Mormon twice this year! Last year  she really struggled to wake up for it.  Now it's her last class of the day and one of her favorites.

Joseph is lturning 13 this week! He is well.....13 need I say more? :)
He's a good boy, he has grown a lot and continues to be a bottomless pit.  He got his first babysitting job yesterday. He tended 5 kids between ages 4-10 for 8 hour.  He did an awesome job.  He was proud of himself too.  Money was definitley the motivating factor.

I am getting involved in family history. We have a FHC in our ward building and people to help.  It is so fun.  I really enjoy it.
I am also substitute teaching at the school and I actually just got trained to be the OT And speech aid. I will do,that in the afternoons from 1:00 -3:20.

I'll post more soon and hopefully I'll get some pictures on here.
Bye for now.
